WASHINGTON, June 26 (YPA) – US President Donald Trump’s United States’ special envoy to Middle East, Steve Witkoff, revealed that the US to be ready to make a “major announcement” soon regarding new countries joining the Abraham Accords and normalizing their relations with “Israel”.
According to reports by CNBC on Wednesday, Witkoff noted that the recent ceasefire ended the conflict that arose from Israeli aggression against Iran and prevented it from turning into an “endless war”.
He expressed optimism about the possibility of reaching a comprehensive peace agreement between the two sides, stressing the existence of strong signals supporting this possibility.
Witkoff stated that many countries might be expected to normalize their relations with “Israel” in the upcoming announcement, noting that “Israel” signed agreements to normalize with Bahrain, the UAE, Morocco, and Sudan in late 2020, known as the “Abraham Accords”.
In a related context, Israeli Ambassador to the United States Yechiel Leiter revealed last month that Syria and Lebanon may join the agreements for normalization with “Israel” before Saudi Arabia.
