OCCUPIED PALESTINE, June 25 (YPA) -Hebrew media revealed new details on Wednesday about the ambush that killed 7 Israeli occupation soldiers in Khan Yunis yesterday.
In one of the deadliest incidents for Israeli forces in recent weeks, seven soldiers from the 605th Combat Engineering Battalion were killed in southern Gaza when an explosive device was attached to their armored personnel carrier (APC), the Israeli occupation army radio reported.
The attack occurred in the Khan Younis area, a focal point of ongoing combat between the occupation forces and resistance fighters.
According to a preliminary investigation by the Israel occupation forces, a resistance fighter managed to approach the APC, identified as a “Puma” vehicle from the 188th Armored Brigade, and attach an improvised explosive device (IED) to it.
The explosion occurred at approximately 6:30 PM.
According to the radio, efforts to rescue those in the APC were complicated by fire caused by the explosion. Emergency teams, including a military bulldozer, were dispatched to the scene. Instead, they used a bulldozer to bury the vehicle with sand and dirt in an attempt to put out the flames.
“Only after dragging the vehicle back into occupied territory was the fire finally extinguished, revealing all seven soldiers inside had been killed.”
It further explained that “identifying the bodies took several hours, and after the process was completed, the soldiers’ families were notified last night.”
