In video: Massive fire breaks out in Dubai skyscraper

DUBAI, June 14 (YPA) – A massive fire broke out on Saturday inside a 67-story skyscraper in the Marina area in Dubai city of UAE.

According to media sources, 3,820 residents of the 67-story tower, which contains 764 apartments, were evacuated.

Local eyewitnesses from the tower’s residents reported that the fire alarms did not go off, and they only realized there was a fire in the building when they smelled smoke or received calls from friends.

The thick smoke blocked the stairs for some, forcing them to rely on elevators to escape. Many residents spent the entire night outdoors before finding temporary shelter.

Dubai authorities said that investigations were still underway to determine the cause of the fire.
