President Pezeshkian vows ‘powerful’ response to make “Israel” regret

TEHRAN, June 13 (YPA) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian vowed a “powerful” response to the enemy that will make it regret its preposterous action.

“As of this moment, the Islamic Republic of Iran’s government has begun the necessary defensive, political, and legal measures to make the illegitimate Israel regret [its aggression] and will deny the Israelis a moment’s rest,” he said  during an emergency cabinet meeting on Friday.

“Following the criminal assault by the Zionist regime, the government immediately took control of crisis management and held a special session to monitor developments,” he said, according to Iran’s state-run IRNA news agency. The president is expected to address the Iranian public shortly.”

Earlier, Iranian media has confirmed the martyrdom of several senior military commanders and nuclear scientists following an Israeli aggression on Iran in the early hours of today.

According to Iranian media Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Bagheri and commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Hossein Salami have been martyred in Israeli aggression that also targeted scientists and civilians.

Major General Gholam Ali Rashid, commander of the central headquarters of the Iranian Armed Forces, was also martyred in one of the attacks which came early Friday.

State television and local media also reported the death of two scientists working on Iran’s nuclear program. They were identified as Fereydoun Abbasi-Davani and Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi.
