SANAA, June 12 (YPA) – Tunisia stressed the need to ensure the implementation of bilateral cooperation programs with Italy in the field of developing the readiness and operational capacity of the two countries’ armies.
This came according to Tunisian Defense Minister Khaled Sehili during his reception of the Chief of Staff of the Italian Army, Carmine Masialo, at the ministry’s headquarters in the capital, Tunis, on the occasion of the conclusion of the Tunisian-Italian Military Committee, which was held on Tuesday and Wednesday.
For his part, the Chief of Staff of the Italian Army, Carmine Masialo, praised the level of Tunisian-Italian cooperation in the military field.
He affirmed his country’s readiness to continue working to develop these areas in a way that contributes to strengthening the operational capabilities of the military institutions in the two countries and serves the interests of the two peoples.
According to the Tunisian Ministry of Defense, the Joint Military Committee meets annually, alternating between the two countries.
