Pro-Palestine protesters disrupt US senator’s book signing

NEW YORK, May 31  (YPA) – Pro-Palestinian activists in the US disrupted Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s book signing event on Thursday at the New York Public Library, protesting his support for “Israel”.

During the event for Schumer’s book, Antisemitism in America, protesters repeatedly chanted “Free Palestine” and accused Israel of committing genocide in Gaza.

Some protesters criticized Schumer’s support for Israeli policies, shouting slogans such as, “There is a real Holocaust happening in Palestine,” while others called Schumer a “Zionist” and shouted, “You don’t speak for the Jewish people. You’re a liar.”

When security removed protesters from the building, they continued their protest outside.

The incident highlights growing domestic backlash against US politicians backing Israeli aggression on Gaza.
