Person killed, wounded in armed confrontations in Lahj

LAHJ, May 27 (YPA) – A person was killed and another injured in Lahj province, which is under the control of UAE-backed factions in southern Yemen.

According to informed sources, armed individuals exchanged gunfire in the “Tuban” area following a dispute over a piece of land, which resulted in one fatality and left another person critically wounded.

The sources attributed the clashes to the prevailing security disorder, the absence of law enforcement, and the rampant impunity across the southern provinces.

This state of chaos has been exacerbated by the proliferation of armed factions and the influence of warlords in areas of Yemen controlled by the Saudi-led coalition forces.
