WASHINGTON, May 22 (YPA) – Microsoft has begun blocking corporate emails containing words like “Palestine,” “Gaza,” and “genocide” from reaching recipients.
According to the American technology website, The Verge, on Thursday, Microsoft employees noticed that some of their emails had not reached the recipients.
The employees subsequently reviewed the emails they had sent and discovered that Microsoft had blocked emails including those words from being sent to recipients both inside and outside the company.
On the other hand, Microsoft confirmed that it implemented such a practice to reduce “political emails” within the company.
In early 2025, an Associated Press investigation revealed that AI models from Microsoft and OpenAI were used as part of an Israeli military program to select bombing targets in Gaza and Lebanon.
