BAGHDAD, May 17 (YPA) – The 34th Arab League Summit kicks off in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, today, amid the ongoing massacres committed by the occupation in Gaza and the worsening humanitarian crisis.
Alongside Arab officials, UN Secretary-General António Guterres and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez will attend. Spain recognized the Palestinian state last year, and Sánchez is among the European leaders most critical of “Israel”.
On Friday, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in Baghdad to participate in the 34th ordinary summit of the Arab League, scheduled to commence today.
A diplomatic source in Baghdad stated that most Gulf states will be represented at the ministerial level.
