‘Israeli prisoners no to be released unless Israeli aggression stops on Gaza’: Al-Hindi

GAZA, May 12 (YPA) – Deputy Secretary-General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement, Mohammed al-Hindi, said that the Palestinian resistance would not release any more Israeli prisoners held in the Gaza Strip unless the United States to force the Israeli occupation to a comprehensive and complete ceasefire.

In news statements on Sunday, Al-Hindi stressed that any ceasefire agreement must include a complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip and a final cessation of the ongoing military aggression since October 7, 2023.

“The Palestinian resistance will not accept partial solutions or temporary truces that do not end our people’s suffering,” he added. “The continued military operations and Israeli presence inside the Gaza Strip constitute a major obstacle to any progress on the prisoners’ issue.”

“The ball is now in the US administration’s court, as it alone has the power to exert real pressure on the occupation government to halt its genocidal war,” Al-Hindi stated, noting that the resistance has proven its seriousness and willingness to engage with any just initiative that fulfills the demands of the Palestinian people.”

Al-Hindi’s remarks came in regional and international efforts to push for a humanitarian truce leading to a comprehensive agreement, amidst a clear stumbling block as the occupation has continued to adhere to its military plans and refuses to fully withdraw from the Gaza Strip.
