Southern Movement leader in Shabwa resigns from UAE-backed STC

SHABWA, May 06 (YPA) – A leader in the “Southern Movement” in Shabwa province has submitted his resignation from the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) due to what he described as shocking reasons that compelled him to leave the STC.

Hassan Faraj Awad Saleh, Director of the so-called “Martyrs and Wounded Administration” of the STC in the As-Saeed District, confirmed that he resigned due to the marginalization of the region and the looting of the entitlements of the sons of soldiers who were killed while fighting within the Saudi-led coalition’s ranks.

He explained that the STC has excluded veteran members of the Southern Movement, and has turned into a source of profiteering rather than a body that truly represents the people of the southern provinces.
