TAIZ, May 05 (YPA) – A citizen has submitted a formal complaint to the Taiz Prosecution Office affiliated with the government loyal to the Saudi-led coalition, accusing two doctors at Al-Thawra General Hospital in Taiz of removing his testicle without his knowledge or consent during a hernia surgery in 2019.
In his formal complaint, Ahmed Mohammed Ghaleb asserted that the operation was carried out in a training room instead of a standard operating room, as the latter was occupied at the time, and indicated that the surgery was ultimately unsuccessful.
The complaint which was seen by Yemen Press Agency (YPA), stated that three years later, when he returned to the hospital for follow-up, the treating physician refused to perform any corrective surgery. This compelled him to consult another doctor at a different hospital, where it was discovered that his left testicle was missing – allegedly removed without authorization.”
According to the complaint, the first doctor claimed the testicle was removed due to “atrophy “. But the patient accused both doctors of “organ theft and trafficking,”
He emphasized that the loss caused him infertility since the incident.
Ghaleb called on the Taiz Prosecutor’s Office to promptly launch an investigation, take the physicians into custody, and provide compensation for the damages he suffered.
