Five earthquakes recorded in Aden Gulf

ADEN, April 30 (YPA) – About five earthquakes were recorded on Tuesday off the Yemeni coast in the Gulf of Aden, south of Yemen.

Dhamar-based stations of the Earthquake and Volcano Monitoring and Study Center said that five minor to moderate earthquakes, ranging in magnitude from 3.8 to 4.6 on the Richter scale in the Gulf of Aden within 48 hours.

Earthquakes have been on the rise in the Gulf of Aden, a seismically active region due to the movement of the Arabian Plate and the opening of the Gulf and the Red Sea at Bab al-Mandab.
