ABYAN, April 29 (YPA) – Two separate attacks targeted, on Tuesday, the UAE-funded Southern Transitional Council (STC) factions in Abyan governorate, southern Yemen.
Informed local sources reported that unidentified gunmen, believed to be affiliated with Al-Qaeda, targeted a military vehicle belongs to Transitional Council factions with an explosive device at the Ormah junction in Maudiyah district, east of Abyan, damaging it.
A Transitional Council military checkpoint in the Al-Qouz area was bombed by a drone owned by the terrorist organization, amid reports of recording casualties among the factions during the two attacks.
The Transitional Council factions have faced repeated attacks since taking control of Islah camps in Abyan during Operation Arrows of the East in mid-2022.
It’s worth noting that the attacks that targeted STC factions, particularly using explosive devices and armed ambushes, have killed and wounded hundreds of their members, including prominent leaders.
