Russia declares position on escalating tension between US, Iran

MOSCOW, April 08 (YPA) – The Russian Foreign Ministry said Russia would take all necessary measures to resolve the situation if Iran was attacked by the United States.

Moscow announced in a statement its welcome for contacts between the United States and Iran regarding the nuclear program.

Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova revealed to Al-Mayadeen that expert-level consultations were taking place in Moscow on Tuesday between Russia, China, and Iran.

Zakharova emphasized that the trilateral consultations on the Iranian nuclear program are important and contribute to improving the situation in the region.

Meanwhile, the TASS news agency quoted the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister as saying that the three parties were examining post-nuclear agreement scenarios during the consultations.
