WASHINGTON, April 08 (YPA) – US Representative Rashida Tlaib urged the Trump administration to halt arms exports to Israel, stressing the importance of protecting US citizens, following the killing of an American child by Israeli forces in the West Bank.
Tlaib posted on her “X” account on Monday that the Trump administration’s top priority should be protecting American citizens. She noted that instead of protecting its own citizens, the United States supplies the Israeli occupation with weapons that contribute to their targeting, calling for an immediate ban on arms shipments to Israel.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced on Sunday that 14-year-old Omar Muhammad Saada Rabie died of wounds he sustained after being shot by Israeli forces in the town of Turmus Ayya, north of Ramallah. In another statement, the ministry said that Israeli settlers opened fire on Palestinians in the same area while they were attempting to seize Palestinian land, wounding two people, one of them seriously.
The West Bank has witnessed a significant escalation in attacks by the Israeli army and settlers since the start of the offensive on the Gaza Strip. According to official Palestinian data, this escalation has resulted in the deaths of more than 945 Palestinians, the injury of approximately 7,000 others, and the arrest of more than 15,800 people.
