Missile from Yemen triggers Israeli warning sirens once more

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Mar. 18 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation forces announced that air raid sirens sounded in several areas in southern Israel on Tuesday evening after a rocket was fired from Yemeni territory.

The Israeli Home Front Command confirmed that the sirens were heard in Beersheba, Dimona, and several other towns in the southern occupied territories.

According to Israeli media reports, defensive means were used to intercept the rocket, while Israel’s Channel 12 reported that the air defense system intercepted a ballistic missile launched from Yemen.

This incident is the first of its kind since the ceasefire agreement in Gaza went into effect on January 19. It comes at a time of heightened tensions after Israeli aircraft launched intensive airstrikes on the Gaza Strip early this morning, leaving hundreds dead and wounded.

It’s worth noting that US President Donald Trump announced last Saturday that he had ordered his country’s military to launch a major attack against the Ansarallah group in Yemen. This would be the first attack of its kind on Yemen since the ceasefire in Gaza went into effect on January 19, 2025.

US Central Command confirmed the continuation of its operations against the group, while Sanaa forces announced the targeting of the US aircraft carrier “Harry S. Truman” for the third time in just 48 hours.
