Pakistani engineer rejects Israeli prize to protest their crimes in Gaza

ISLAMABAD, Mar. 12 (YPA) – The prominent Pakistani architect Yasmeen Lari has refused to accept a prize presented by an Israeli entity as an expression of her protest against the crimes against the residents of Gaza and to condemn the continued genocide against the Palestinian people.

According to Pakistan’s English-language newspaper, The Express Tribune, an Israeli organization dedicated to honoring prominent scholars in the field of architecture selected architect Yasmeen Lari for this year’s award. However, Lari clearly declined the award in a letter she sent to the organization.

The newspaper reported that Lari’s refusal stemmed from her support for the Palestinian people and her condemnation of the crimes committed in Gaza.

In her letter to the Israeli organization, Lari explained, “Given the current situation in Gaza, accepting this award is unacceptable.”
