WORLD, March 12 (YPA) -The Red Sea region, west of Saudi Arabia, experienced a seaquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale in the past few hours. The Yemeni Center for Monitoring and Studying Earthquakes and Volcanoes in Dhamar province recorded the tremor at 9:12 PM on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the “IRSC” center detected another seaquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale off the Saudi coast near the city of Jubail in the Eastern Province. The tremor occurred at a shallow depth of 10 km.
The centers have predicted that seismic energy may transfer to the Iranian-Iraqi border and the earthquake fault zone in Iran.
There is also a possibility of further expansion towards the Gulf countries, including eastern Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, southern Iraq, Qatar, the UAE, and Oman.
