Clashes erupt between Islah militants, tribal gunmen south Marib city

MARIB, March 12 (YPA) – The Hadad area, south of Marib city, which is under the control of the Saudi-led coalition, witnessed armed clashes between members of the Hadad tribe and elements from the Islah Party factions.

Local sources reported that the clashes erupted on Monday following protests by the tribe’s members over the failure to disburse the promised financial incentives.

The sources added that the confrontations began with verbal altercations between the tribe’s members and Islah Party faction leaders, which escalated into armed clashes using light weapons.

No human or material casualties were reported, but tensions remain tense in the area.

The sources further stated that the tribe’s members mobilized armed reinforcements to seize water tankers belonging to the Islah factions, prompting the latter to surround Hadad village.
