70,000 perform Isha, Tarawih prayers in Al-Aqsa Mosque, despite Israeli occupation’s tightening

OCCUPIED QUDS, Mar. 01 (YPA) – About 70,000 worshipers performed the Isha and Tarawih prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque on Saturday, the first day of Ramadan, despite the strict restrictions imposed by the Israeli occupation authorities.

The Islamic Endowments Department reported that the largest number of worshipers was from Al-Quds (Jerusalem) and the Palestinian interior, while many residents of the West Bank were prevented from reaching the mosque.

Local sources stated that the occupation forces obstructed the entry of worshipers through the Damascus and Asbat Gates, where they checked their IDs and arrested a number of young men.

Despite these restrictions, large numbers of Palestinians from the interior and Al-Quds flocked to the mosque.

The AL-Quds Governorate Administration warned in a previous statement of the escalation of the occupation during Ramadan, calling for the removal of restrictions and ensuring freedom of worship.
