SANAA, Feb. 27 (YPA) – The Sanaa-based Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jamal Amer, denounced on Wednesday the position of the UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, about Yemen.
Regarding the massive international and Western media coverage of the detention of a number of local employees in a number of international organizations, the minister affirmed that the Sanaa government trusted all international governmental and non-governmental organizations operating in Yemen, but these organizations being easily penetrated by individuals who exploit their work in them to carry out tasks that threaten the security and safety of the country.
He stressed that no country could stand idly by in the face of any threat to its security, especially Yemen has been subjected to military aggression and a comprehensive siege for ten years.
“Sanaa is committed to all legal procedures in dealing with the detainees’ file and it has responded to the demands of the United Nations and ambassadors of a number of friendly countries not to refer the accused to the Public Prosecution and the judiciary,” Mr. Amer added.
Minister Amer touched on the role of the World Food Program (WFP), which no longer performs its assigned role, noting that the program had provided only the food aid in 74 districts out of 222 during the past period.
He indicated that more than 70 percent of the food imported by the Food Program is spoiled and unfit for human consumption, and this is documented with evidence and documents.
“Saudi Arabia and the Emirates are a main tool in the hands of the United States of America, which is plotting against Sana’a through its local tools and planning to attack Sanaa,” the minister said. “The Saudi-Emirati dispute over dividing the occupied southern provinces has hindered the implementation of their conspiratorial plans.”
