SANAA, Feb. 24 (YPA) – The Sanaa-based Parliament of Yemen appreciated on Sunday Russia’s positions in the Security Council, as well as the statements of the European Union Ambassador regarding supporting peace and stability in Yemen.
In its session, held by the Council’s spokesman Yahya Al-Ra’i, the council welcomed the statements of the EU Ambassador to Yemen Gabriel Munera Vinals, who emphasized that stability in Yemen means stability in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, Bab al-Mandab, the Red Sea, and international navigation in the Suez Canal, renewing the EU commitment to supporting the negotiations led by the United Nations to achieve peace in Yemen.
It also praised the positions of the Russian representative to the Security Council, in which he held President Trump’s reckless decision responsible for obstructing peace efforts.
The Yemeni Parliament urged to unify efforts to confront the challenges facing peace efforts in Yemen, including the obstacles that the Trump administration trying to impose in Yemen and the region.
It also valued the statements of some American officials, who said that designation of the Ansarullah movement in Yemen as a terrorist organization is an unrealistic and unenforceable decision, and that the movement represents a purely Yemeni will.
