Human rights group condemns rape of young girl by doctor affiliated with Tariq Affash’s militia

MOCHA, Feb. 09 (YPA) – A human rights organization condemned on Saturday,  the rape of a young girl by an employee of the medical body affiliated with Tariq Affash militia in the Yakhtul area of Mocha district, west of Taiz.

Tihama Organization for Rights and Human Heritage, in a statement, called for holding the perpetrator accountable and bringing him to justice, holding the authorities responsible for any manipulation of the case.

The organization pointed out that this is not the first rape crime committed by individuals affiliated with Tariq Affash’s forces across their various military, security, and civilian formations, demanding an impartial investigation into these crimes.

Earlier this month, the city of Yakhtul witnessed angry protests in response to the rape of an 8-year-old girl, fueled by perceived negligence and inaction from security authorities, who failed to respond effectively to reports and demands for the apprehension of the criminal.
