Citizen killed, others injured in armed clashes in Shabwa

SHABWA, Feb. 02 (YPA) – Armed confrontations erupted on Sunday in Shabwa province, which is under the control of the UAE-backed factions, resulting in deaths and injuries.

Local sources reported that Taqi Muhammad Rashid Thubani lost his life in a tribal conflict between Aal Ghalib and Aal Bathuban in Nisab district, west of Ataq, the provincial capital. Militants used light and medium weapons, while authorities failed to intervene or contain the violence.

These clashes are part of ongoing disputes rooted in tribal revenge. The UAE-aligned factions are accused of fostering divisions by supporting loyal tribes in Shabwa, an oil-rich region, against those opposing the UAE’s influence.
