18 dead as plane crashes in South Sudan’s Unity State

WORLD, Jan. 30 (YPA) – At least 18 people died on Wednesday when an aircraft carrying oil workers from South Sudan’s Unity State to the capital, Juba crashed, local sources said.

Radio Miraya, operated by the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), confirmed that the plane, which had taken off from an oil field in Unity State, South Sudan, crashed shortly after departure.

The radio station stated that, according to initial reports, the accident resulted in the deaths of 18 people, while three survivors are in critical condition.
