35 organizations in America categorically reject Trump’s proposal to displace Palestinians from Gaza
SANAA, Jan. 28 (YPA) – The Palestinian American Network of Organizations, which represents 35 Palestinian American organizations in the United States, has categorically rejected President Trump’s proposal to resettle Palestinians from Gaza in Egypt and Jordan.
In a statement, the organizations condemned this proposal, which seeks to achieve forced displacement, which Israel has failed to achieve during 15 months of genocide and ethnic cleansing since the start of the war on Gaza on October 7, 2023.
“President Trump does not seem to know that 70% of Gaza’s population are refugees who were forcibly displaced from their homes in 1948 and beyond, and these residents were expelled from their original cities such as Jaffa, Haifa, Ashkelon, Ashdod, Beersheba and other areas that are now under Israeli control, as part of the establishment of the State of Israel,” the organizations said in the statement.
The organizations asked in a memorandum that if President Trump is serious about achieving peace in the Middle East, as he claims, he must work seriously to end the Israeli occupation of the West Bank, the Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem, which were occupied in 1967 AD.
It is noteworthy that US President Donald Trump called last Saturday, in statements to journalists, to transfer the Palestinians of the Gaza Strip to neighboring countries such as Egypt and Jordan, citing the lack of habitable places in the Gaza Strip as a result of the Israeli genocide that lasted for more than 15 months with American support.
