Famous pilot kidnapped in Aden

ADEN, 21 (YPA) – A famous pilot was kidnapped on Tuesdays in the coalition-held armed factions city of Aden, south of Yemen.

A local source in the city affirmed that that the memberso of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) kidnapped the assistant pilot, Adli Ali Baghdadi, who got the Medal of Courage, while he was with his family in the Tawahi area.

Baghdadi was transported to one of the STC-run prisons without knowing the reasons behind the kidnapping.

The source added that Captain Baghdadi was one of the crew members who saved the Yemeni Boeing 727 from a hijacking attempt on a domestic flight between Sanaa and Taiz, where the American ambassador, Barbara Bodine, and two embassy staff were on board at the end of January 2001.
