GAZA, Jan. 19 (YPA) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) declared on Sunday that about 4,000 trucks loaded with aid would be prepared to enter to the Gaza Strip, as the ceasefire came into effect.
The agency said in a statement that half of these trucks carry food and flour, affirming that attacks on aid convoys in the Gaza Strip may decrease after reaching a ceasefire agreement.
Earlier in the day, the humanitarian aid trucks lined up in the Egyptian city of Rafah moved to the Karem Abu Salem border crossing with the Gaza Strip in preparation for their passage into the Strip.
The Egyptian Red Crescent teams in North Sinai prepared 500 trucks containing relief and humanitarian supplies in preparation for their entry into the Gaza Strip by the UNRWA and the Palestinian Red Crescent.
On Saturday, Egypt Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aati said that the ceasefire agreement between Hamas and the occupation included the entry of 600 aid trucks daily into the Gaza Strip, including 50 fuel trucks.
