Armed clashes erupt between Hezbollah, Syrian armed factions along border

BEIRUT, Jan. 14 (YPA) – Intense fighting broke out on Tuesday between members of the Lebanese Hezbollah and factions affiliated with the “Military Operations Department” near the Syrian-Lebanese border.

Reports from media outlets indicate that the clashes occurred in the vicinity of Hermel, a Lebanese town, and Qusayr, a city in Syria. However, no details have been confirmed regarding casualties on either side.

Additionally, confrontations involving heavy and medium machine guns flared past midnight between Hezbollah fighters and Syrian armed factions in the village of Al-Masria, located on the border. As of now, no casualties have been reported.

Sources from the Syrian Observatory stated that Hezbollah managed to infiltrate Al-Masria village from three directions during the confrontation.
