ADEN, Jan. 14 (YPA) – Militants of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) factions attacked on Tuesday a number of demonstrators demanding to improve services and pay salaries in the city of Aden, southern Yemen.
Human rights sources said that the employees who raised banners demanded of the Saudi-formed Presidential Leadership Council” and the coalition-affiliated Aden government to leave, including the STC leaders who participated in the collapse of the economy and local currency, lack of services, and security chaos.
Earlier in the day, Aden has witnessed thousands flocking to the parade square in Khormaksar city to participate in a protest rally demanding the payment of salaries and stopping the rapid collapse of the Yemeni riyal against foreign currencies.
During the rally, the participants denounced the war of starvation and lack of services the that coalition forces carried out against citizens in Aden and the rest of the southern provinces, calling for the provision of fuel for the power stations, which have been out of service for more than 20 hours a day.
