SANAA, Jan. 10 (YPA) – The Supreme Political Council (SPC) on Friday condemned the airstrikes carried out by the Israeli-American-British coalition on the capital, Sanaa, during the mass rally in Al-Sab’een Square in solidarity with Gaza.
In a statement issued later in the day, the Council described the attack on the presidential palace as a blatant breach of Yemen’s sovereignty and a significant escalation. It emphasized that the Yemeni people would not be cowed by these strikes but view them as an incitement, calling for resilience, confrontation, and a firm response through all available means.
The Council commended the steadfastness of the Yemeni people and their unwavering support for Gaza, highlighting their continued participation in the mass gathering despite the shelling near Al-Sabeen Square in Sanaa.
The statement called on the international community to condemn the Israeli-American escalation to avoid catastrophic consequences that could lead to a comprehensive war in the region.
The Council added that the continued targeting of civilian facilities, such as the Heziaz power station and the ports of Ras Issa and Salif, reflects an attempt to undermine the honorable position of the Yemeni people in their continued support for Gaza.
