MAHRA, Jan. 10 (YPA) – Thousands of citizens gathered on Friday in the city of Al-Ghaydah, the capital of Mahra province in eastern Yemen, to participate in a mass rally expressing their rejection of foreign interventions.
In response to the call of the sit-in committee against foreign presence in the province, the processions of the people of Mahra districts arrived in Al-Ghaydah, raising the Yemeni and Palestinian flags, in a clear indication of their absolute rejection of foreign interventions.
The participants confirmed their united stand against the conspiracies and sabotage projects, vowing to thwart the plans that threaten the security and stability of the province.
The protest came in the context of denouncing Saudi practices in the province, which include the establishment of new factions under the name of “Dera Al-Watan,” under the pretext of enhancing security.
Protesters believe that this step comes as part of Saudi Arabia’s attempt to pass its old project of extending an oil pipeline through Yemeni territory to the Arabian Sea.
