GAZA, Dec. 31 (YPA) – The Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip reported on Tuesday that it has received hundreds of distress calls from displaced Palestinians whose tents and shelters have been flooded by rainwater, with many pleading for help to save their children.
The Civil Defense stated in a press release that it has been receiving numerous emergency calls since yesterday from displaced citizens whose tents and destroyed homes have been submerged by the rain.
The statement continued: “Our teams can only evacuate citizens from their damaged shelters to other places, which are often unsuitable for housing, leaving them in the open under the rain and freezing cold.”
It called on those with a conscience to come forward and help these families, assisting them in relocating to suitable shelters that protect them from the rain, particularly the displaced in camps in Gaza City, Khan Younis, Rafah, and western Deir al-Balah.
