Humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza escalates on 436th day of Israeli aggression
GAZA, Dec. 15 (YPA) – On the 436th day of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, crimes against civilians escalated as the Israeli occupation forces targeted various areas of the Strip, including the tents of the displaced, resulting in dozens of martyrs and wounded.
Since the dawn hours, the occupation forces launched violent raids on various areas, most notably the northern part of the Strip.
According to the Al-Mayadeen TV correspondent, 25 Palestinians were killed as a result of the raids, 11 of whom were pulled out from under the rubble in Gaza City.
In Beit Hanoun, north of the Strip, artillery shelling and heavy gunfire escalated as the occupation forces surrounded the Khalil Awida School and forced the displaced to leave it under the threat of shelling and gunfire, resulting in the martyrdom of 15 people and the injury of others.
The occupation continued to target residential neighborhoods and public facilities in the north, center, and south of the Strip.
The raids included Sheikh Zayed and Beit Lahia neighborhoods in the north, where many civilians were killed amid intense bombardment; the vicinity of Kamal Adwan Hospital was targeted, and two people were killed and others were wounded; and Al-Nafaq Street and Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, where raids targeted civilian homes, resulting in the death of seven people in several areas.
The Al-Mawasi area, west of Rafah, was subjected to intense artillery shelling, and the occupation aircraft also targeted a house in the Qizan Al-Najjar area, south of Khan Yunis, resulting in a number of martyrs and wounded.
Munir Al-Bursh, Director General of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, described the situation in the Strip as an “unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe.” He stressed that 70% of the martyrs were women and children, pointing to an urgent need to establish a medical corridor to facilitate the transportation of the injured between “Al-Awda” and “Kamal Adwan” hospitals.
Since the start of the aggression on October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation has continued to commit war crimes with American support, causing widespread destruction and famine, the effects of which have worsened on women and children, making Gaza a witness to one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world.
