Several pro-Islah leaders return to Socotra

SOCOTRA, Dec. 13 (YPA) – A number of leaders loyal to the Islah Party had arrived at Hadibu Airport, the center of the Yemeni province of Socotra, east of the Gulf of Aden.

Local sources familiar with the matter said that the former governor of Socotra, loyal to Islah, Ramzi Mahrous, arrived at Hadibu Airport on Thursday, accompanied by the sheikh Issa bin Yaqout, after the UAE ousted him from the sheikhdom of the tribes.

The sources explained that the return of Mahrous and bin Yaqout from the city of Seiyun, the center of Hadramout Wadi, came after tribal protests rejecting the UAE’s restructuring of the province’s tribes and the formation of its sheikhs in a way that serves its interests.

They indicated that Mahrous’s return was the second to the island after he was expelled by the Emirati factions, which controlled over the province’s building in Hadibu with the complicity of the “Saudi 808 Forces” in early June 2020.

The sources expected that Bin Yaqout would reorganize and unify the ranks of the tribal sheikhs again following the violations that the factions loyal to the Emirates have committed against citizens.
