UAE-backed factions cut off road linking Abyan-Aden

ABYAN, Dec. 12 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Transitional Council factions cut off the road linking Abyan and Aden governorates to heavy tankers and trucks in Abyan governorate, southern Yemen.

Informed sources reported that elements of the “rescue” factions blocked the road in Al-Mahfad district in Abyan for the third consecutive day in protest against the failure to pay their salaries by the coalition-affiliated government for the third consecutive month.

The sources confirmed that dozens of tankers and trucks are parked on the side of the road and drivers are not allowed to passage until the factions dues are paid by the coalition government.

This comes after the Central Bank of Aden announced last month that it was unable to pay the salaries of employees in the region since last October due to the economic collapse that affected the living conditions of employees and citizens alike.
