Meteorology warns of extreme cold in several governorates

SANAA, Dec. 06 (YPA) – The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has warned of cold to extremely cold weather in several governorates over the next 24 hours.

According to the weather bulletin issued by the center on Friday, cold to extremely cold weather is expected in the governorates of Saada, Amran, Sanaa, Dhamar, and Al-Bayda, with the possibility of frost formation in scattered areas.

The center indicated cold weather will be experienced in the highland areas of the governorates of Dhalea, Ibb, Taiz, Lahj, Abyan, Shabwa, and the deserts of Hadramaut, Marib, and Al-Jawf.

It warned against exposure to cold weather in the mountainous areas, urging citizens to take necessary precautions, especially for children, school students, the elderly, and workers during the night and early morning hours.

The National Center for Meteorology also urged farmers to take precautions and follow agricultural guidelines to protect their crops from the effects of the severe cold, as well as livestock herders, beekeepers, and poultry farmers.
