STC carries out armed raid in Mukalla

HADRAMOUT, 02 (YPA) – A number of armed men loyal to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) attacked a youth event funded by the American Institute in the city of Mukalla, the provincial capital of Hadramout in eastern Yemen.

Human rights sources affirmed that the STC elements arrived on four military vehicles and stormed a hall where the so-called “First National Youth Conference” was being held in Bin Mahfouz Towers in central Mukalla, and brandished their weapons at the participants who left the hall.

The conference includes a number of youth in Party of Islah and General People’s Congress loyal to the coalition, following preparations for it for nearly a month in Mukalla with the approval of the coalition-formed authorities.
