SHABWA, Nov. 28 (YPA) – Hundreds of members of the Laqmosh tribe in Shabwa province set up a sit-in camp demanding the release of those kidnapped from the prisons of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) in Aden city, south of Yemen.
The protesters in Al-Aram camp in Habban district demanded that the STC’s leaders should release the forcibly disappeared sons of Sheikh Saeed Muqdah Al-Qamishi from Aden prisons.
They stressed the need for immediate intervention to release the kidnapped, directing an urgent appeal to the STC to assume their legal and moral responsibility in this case.
Tribal protests are likely to escalate until the tribes’ demands for the release of the kidnapped be met, with the possibility of them going to block roads until achieving demands.
