EN calls on international community not to undermine ICC’s work

SANAA, Nov. 28 (YPA) – Josep Borrell, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy called on the international community, especially the EU, not to undermine the International Criminal Court (ICC)’s work.

Borrell said in news statements on Thursday that supporting the ICC and strengthening its decisions is the only way to achieve justice in the world.

He added that Netanyahu’s government is trampling on international law and violating international humanitarian law, stressing that what is happening in Gaza is a flagrant violation of human rights.

Borrell stressing also the need for a ceasefire as a first step, then a political solution for peace and achieving the two-state solution.

Last week, the ICC unanimously issued two decisions rejecting the appeals submitted by the occupying state of Israel under Articles 18 and 19 of the Rome Statute, and issued also two arrest warrants against Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Galant, on charges of committing crimes against humanity and war crimes in the Gaza Strip since October 8, 2023.
