Stifling gasoline crisis hits Hadramout coast

HADRAMOUT, Nov. 26 (YPA) – A Stifling gasoline crisis hit Hadramout province, so the oil company in the city of Mukalla, the capital of Hadramout governorate, admitted that the gasoline distributed to stations comes from the Safer area in Marib province.

A statement issued by the company confirmed that the petroleum distributed in the local market includes two types, “Premium Petroleum 90” and “Improved Petroleum” imported from Marib.

The statement said that recently, improved petroleum tankers coming from Marib were unable to reach the governorate due to the interruptions by armed groups stationed on the road leading to the Hadramout coast, which led to a shortage in the local market.

The statement accused the Hadramout Tribal Alliance militants of intercepting the tankers at the alliance’s points, which were subjected to gunfire when they tried to pass through the road and stopped them by force of arms.

The company’s statement indicated that it is trying to avoid crisis due to the inability of improved petroleum tankers to reach the governorate to ensure that citizens obtain their petroleum needs during this crisis.

Hadramout, which is the largest oil province in Yemen, imports oil from the Safer facility in Marib, while the tribal alliance plunders Hadramout’s wealth and exploits it for their personal interests.
