STC factions cut off coastal road linking Abyan, Aden

ABYAN, Nov. 17 (YPA) – The UAE-funded Southern Transitional Council (STC) factions cut off the Ahwar area of Abyan’s coastal road linking the city of Aden, south of Yemen, and Hadramout province.

A number of STC members prevented trucks and gas tankers from passing through the coastal road on Friday in protest against the failure to raise their dues granted by the equivalent to 1000 Emirati dirhams like the rest of the factions.

The elements were recruited into the STC factions during the past months after completing 3 training courses, amid promises from the factions’ leaders to pay one thousand dirhams as cash dues.
