Israeli occupation destroys 70% of wells, 105,000 water lines in Gaza

GAZA, Nov. 14 (YPA) – The Gaza Strip Municipality revealed on Thursday that the Israeli occupation destroyed more than 105,000 water lines and more than 70% of the water wells in Gaza, which caused great difficulty in delivering water to most residential areas.

The municipality’s spokesman, Asim Al-Nabih, explained in a press statement that the municipality’s limited capabilities hinder its ability to solve this severe crisis, which forces some citizens to transport water manually to their homes, while others were forced to leave their homes due to the distance of water points.

The rising fuel price of 100 shekels per liter has significantly raised the cost of desalinated water, exacerbating the difficulties of citizens in obtaining potable water, according to Al-Nabih.

Since the beginning of the genocide war on Gaza in October 2023, the Israeli occupation has been working to destroy all aspects of life in the Strip.
