Dozens killed, others injured in Israeli aggression on Lebanon

BEIRUT, Nov. 09 (YPA) – Israeli occupation forces launched a series of airstrikes across various parts of Lebanon on the 48th day of the ongoing aggression, resulting in dozens of martyrs, injuries, and significant destruction, including the demolition of residential buildings.

Late on Friday night and into Saturday, Israel carried out 14 airstrikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut.

According to the official National News Agency, one of the strikes targeted the Hadath area near the Lebanese University in the southern suburbs, while two intense airstrikes hit the Burj El Barajneh. Other heavy airstrikes targeted the Haret Hreik area.

The airstrikes also targeted the Jamous neighborhood, an area not previously warned by Israeli forces.

Before the strikes on the southern suburbs, seven people were killed and over 38 others were injured in a series of Israeli airstrikes that targeted three buildings in the city of Tyre in southern Lebanon on Friday evening, according to preliminary reports from the Lebanese Ministry of Health.

Additionally, the airstrikes hit the coastal city of Tyre without prior warning to the residents.

Later on, a number of civilians were killed and others injured in an Israeli raid on the town of Majdel Balhis, which is located in the Rashaya district, Beqaa governorate.

Five people were also killed in the Israeli bombing of the towns of Kfar Tebnit and Zibqine in southern Lebanon.

Other airstrikes targeted several towns, including the towns of Burj al-Muluk, Zoutar al-Sharqiya, the village of Khayyam, the outskirts of the town of Burj al-Muluk, al-Jabeen, Naqoura, Al-Haniya, al-Tiri, and as-Sultaniyah in southern Lebanon.

Explosions were reported in the towns of Yaroun, Aytaroun, and Maroun al-Ras following the destruction of residential homes.

According to the sources, four people were killed and five others injured in another Israeli airstrike on a house in the town of Al-Ghandouriya.

According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, the total number of martyrs in Lebanon due to the Israeli aggression since October 2023 has risen to 3,117, and  13,888 injured.
