Israeli soldiers threaten to quit if government fails to secure prisoner exchange

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Oct. 10 (YPA) – A group of Israeli soldiers sent a letter threatening to stop their service if the government does not take action to reach a prisoner exchange deal, British Sky News reported on Wednesday

According to the channel, the letter was addressed to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, signed by 130 soldiers who stated that the ongoing war in Gaza not only delays the return of the prisoners but also puts their lives at risk.

They added, “If the government does not change its course immediately and work towards an agreement to bring the captives back home, we will be unable to continue our service.”

In their letter, they mentioned that “for some of us, the red line has already been crossed, and for others, the day we stop serving with broken hearts is approaching quickly.”

The group includes both reserve and regular soldiers who have fought in the Gaza Strip and on the northern border.
