Higher Education Ministry in Aden deals severe blow to holders of professional diplomas

ADEN, Oct. 06 (YPA) – The Ministry of Higher Education in the government loyal to the Saudi-led coalition has denied accrediting certificates in diploma specializations at government universities in Aden and southern provinces.

The ministry stated in a post on its Facebook page that the continuation of such programs is a violation of laws and regulations, causing a significant blow to thousands of students who had studied professional diplomas after high school.

It made clear categorically that it does not recognize these violating programs, and will not endorse any certificate according to a circular to all public universities that was announced on its website since the year 2022.

The ministry’s announcement raised great concerns among students, especially since many of them had enrolled in post-secondary vocational diploma programs, relying on a previous promise by some public universities to endorse their degrees.
