Russia FM: Washington obstructs cessation of bloodshed in Palestine

MOSCOW, Sept. 16 (YPA) – Russia’s Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, said that the United States of America is obstructing the passage of any resolution in the United Nations Security Council that would lead to stopping the bloodshed in the Palestinian territories.

Lavrov stressed in a news statement on Monday that the humanitarian situation in Gaza is catastrophic, as is in the West Bank.

He expressed his hope for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the delivery of aid to the Palestinians.

The Israeli occupation forces have been continuing their aggression on the Gaza Strip, by land, sea and air, since October 7, 2023, which has resulted in the martyrdom of more than 41,226 citizens and the injury of 95,413 others, in an incomplete toll, as thousands of victims are still under the rubble of the destroyed buildings.
