US approves $164.4 million sale of heavy-duty tank trailers to Israel

WORLD, Sept. 13 (YPA) – The US has approved $164.4 million in weapons sales to Israel to fund heavy-duty tank trailers, starting their delivery in 2027, the State Department announced Thursday.

“The United States is committed to the security of Israel, and it is vital to US national interests to assist Israel to develop and maintain a strong and ready self-defense capability,” the State Department said in a release on the sale.

Last Thursday, the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) stated that the Department of State had approved a potential sale of heavy tank trailers and related equipment to Israel in a deal valued at $164.6 million.

At the end of August, the Times of Israel reported that Washington had transferred over 50,000 tons of weapons and military equipment from the US to the Israeli occupation forces since the beginning of the war, using 500 transport aircraft and 107 ships. The military equipment included armored vehicles and munitions.
