Hamas deals responsibly with mediators’efforts at stopping aggression on Gaza

GAZA, Aug. 19 (YPA) – Hamas Movement affirmed on Sunday that it dealt responsibly with the efforts of mediators and proposals aimed at stopping the aggression on Gaza.

Hamas said in a statement that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is putting obstacles in the way of reaching an agreement.

It explained that the new proposal is in line with Netanyahu’s conditions, especially with regard to his rejection of a permanent ceasefire and withdrawal from Gaza, in addition to his insistence on continuing the occupation of the Netzarim Junction, the Rafah Border Crossing and the Philadelphi Corridor.

The statement added that Netanyahu set new conditions aimed at thwarting the efforts of mediators and prolonging the war, noting that the new proposal included new conditions in the prisoner exchange file, which hinders the completion of the exchange deal.

It held Netanyahu fully responsible for disrupting the efforts of mediators, stressing its commitment to what it agreed to on July 2 based on the Biden Declaration and the Security Council resolution.

The movement called on mediators in Qatar and Egypt to assume their responsibilities and oblige the occupation to implement what was agreed upon.

” Hamas seeks to achieve tangible progress in the negotiations to ensure reaching a comprehensive agreement that ends the aggression and addresses the outstanding issues,” the movement ‘s statement added.
